"Eat It Before It Melts" features a series of 14 photographs, each capturing the individual experiences and personalities of the participants, who range from close friends to strangers. These collective images, when placed together, evoke a sense of nostalgia, reminding us of our shared humanity and the memories that bind us together.

In the midst of a pandemic-stricken world, the exhibition offers an emotional retrospective, exploring the complexities of the past, present, and future.

Ice creams such as The Paddle Pop and Calippo serve as a symbolic reminder of the fleeting nature of time and the longing for simpler times. Through Kayla's work, visitors are encouraged to embrace the present moment, savour life's simple pleasures, and cherish the memories that connect us all.

Visitors will have the opportunity to contemplate their own experiences and emotions in the context of a shared human experience, making for a truly immersive and engaging exhibition.

With its unique and thought-provoking approach, "Eat It Before It Melts" promises to be an unforgettable experience.

The exhibition is set to open on the 10th of March 2023 at the Brunswick Street Gallery in Naarm/Melbourne, running from the 9th to the 26th of March. This is an opportunity not to be missed, so make sure to come and experience the captivating and thought-provoking work of Kayla May.

Nothing quite grabs your attention like the feeling of your paddle pop melting down your hand as you hurriedly race to lick up the drips of brightly coloured goop before they fall and land on your toes.
